The VT4923 is the most popular pump assembly Campbell Hausfeld manufactures, and our top-seller. Not only has this pump been used on hundreds of models for years now, it is used on many different compressor models by many different private labels and brands. For instance, this pump is used on units by Campbell Hausfeld, Husky, Kobalt, Maxus, Ridgid, Sears-Craftsman and Speedaire. This pump includes the air intake filter and flywheel. Installation simply requires bolting it down, installing the v-belt, connecting the discharge tube and adding oil to the crankcase. The difference between this pump and the similar VT4823 is the stroke length, the VT4923 has a stroke of 55mm whereas the VT4823 pump has a stroke of 38mm. The longer stroke of the VT4923 can only be used with 230/240 volt electric units and gas-powered units. The longer 55mm stroke means the pump produces more compression (longer piston travel) and only a 220/230 volt electric motor or 5 horsepower gas engine can turn it. A smaller gas engine or 115/120 volt electric motor wouldn't be able to turn the longer stroke pump efficiently, as it doesn't provide enough torque to be able to operate it efficiently and produce the required CFM. The Campbell Hausfeld VT4923 is a cast-iron pump with reed valves, and can be retro-fitted to many different base plates with different configurations, so it's a good option for a replacement pump if the original pump on your unit is unavailable; you may have to drill new holes on the base plate, but the compact size, 1/2" female NPT outlet in the head and the 10" (OD) flywheel make it an ideal replacement pump which is similar to pumps from other manufacturers.
